In today’s diverse work environments, generational differences can lead to miscommunication, tension, and decreased productivity. This capstone project explores how varying values, work styles, and historical influences—from Traditionalists to Gen Z—affect collaboration. The research revealed that unresolved intergenerational tension often results in avoidance, emotional friction, and lowered morale, particularly when accountability and empathy are lacking. At Inclusive Indulgence, this insight drives our mission to create conflict-conscious environments—whether in the workplace, customer experience, or hospitality—where inclusion extends beyond demographics to encompass emotional and behavioral aspects.

This project resulted in a practical, psychology-informed framework for recognizing and resolving age-based conflict. It includes tailored communication strategies across generational cohorts, emotional literacy tools to address unspoken dissatisfaction and defensiveness, and a repeatable model based on power awareness, emotional reactions, and unexpressed needs.
